This marvelous pair of French gilt Bbronze chenets from 18th century. The Firedogs are exceptional and masterfully made from carved and gilded Bronze, with flamboyant decorative elements which were very common in the era of Louis XVI. Decorated with lion heads, ribbons, railing and columns and on the top with a flame, which most certainly characterises symbol of fireplace. The Greek key design can be seen on the Urns which makes these Firedogs unique.
