1890s original patented fireproof large security cabinet by R Tanczos of Vienna. One of our most favourite finds ever. A large exceptionally original fireproof cabinet sourced from a German legal firm. The Cabinet is made principally of wood but clad in sheet metal with its original faux wood grain decoration throughout. The intricate door locks and hinges all work and we have the original key so the piece is actually a very practical cabinet. Although heavy it is not the impractical weight of a period steel safe, we would estimate the weight at 200/250 kilo’s. Internal depth of 40 cm with adjustable shelves.
