Nice and decorative Italian glazed ceramic teapot; the shape is very pleasant, the whole body and the lid are hand-painted with delicate and graceful small flowers with pleasant and attractive colors; the handle and the particular knob are gilded with pure gold; the inside is colored with a bright orange color; was handcrafted, in a beautiful Arts and Crafts style, between 1946 and 1949 in the furnaces of the company S.A.C.A.S. as can be deduced from the gold writing on the bottom of the teapot. The company SACAS was a ceramic handicraft manufacturing company that was active in Civita Castellana in the province of Viterbo in Lazio (Italy) between 1940 and 1950. The small town has a millenary artistic history with Etruscan and Roman influences, they produced excellent artifacts in glazed ceramic and terracotta, nowadays Civita Castellana produces 70% of Italian sanitary ware. Our teapot is fairly well preserved, shows signs and defects of use and period, small signs of various marginal wear as visible in the photos. Measures width cm.26, depth cm.17, height cm.13.
