Vintage Design
Born in Milan, Angelo Mangiarotti studied architecture at the Milan Polytechnic, graduating in 1948. Five years later, he won a visiting professorship at the Illinois Institute of Technology – starting an academic career that will see him teach in numerous Italian institutions as well as in schools up to Hawaii and Australia. He worked with the eminences of the Bauhaus Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and met greats such as Frank Lloyd Wright and Walter Gropius. He returned to Italy in 1955 continuing to work on numerous industrial projects, devoting himself to design. This coffee table is the result of this commitment to find the right balance between form and functionality, making the object unique in its kind. The table has an internal compartment 1.6 inches deep from the base of the table itself. Perfect conditions.
