Vintage Design
Magnificent and rare set of ten Art Deco Modernist dining room chairs. Design attributed to Frits Spanjaard. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Black lacquered oak frames and the seats are re-upholstered with blue Manchester corduroy. In good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. The Modernist look of this wonderful set of 10 Art Deco dining room chairs is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
