Vintage Design
Rare Art Deco furniture of Parisian manufacturing topped with a thick marble in nuanced tones and carved ornaments.
This Ceylan’s blond mahogany furniture has two belt drawers, embellished with drooping sculpted bronze handles and brass pastilles keys. The locks are original and in perfect working order. Two doors shaped vertically with alternate streaks are equipped with brass pads and reveal a large storage space with a shelf.
Originally separating the drawers and the doors, we find in the center a large pilaster with frame and sculptures in rosewood. In the upper part, a couple of delicate swans, deploy their wings and curl their neck.
On each side of the facade, uprights of rectangular section support an element in rosewood carved in the shape of a bouquet of flowers, supported by a vase and scrolls. A closed flower and a rosary accompany this floral decoration and highlight it.
The sides of this exceptional buffet benefit from two deployed symmetrical elements, also illustrating the quality of realization of this piece of furniture.
The whole rests on toupied feet with Godrons at the front and rectangular at the back.
Restored in the rules of the art, this furniture with an art deco design combining geometry and finesse, is the witness of an era when the elegance and refinement of the creations of the Parisian workshops were undeniable.
