If you are a collector of handcrafted, early 20th century decorative art in general and you like squirrels in particular then this striking, Dutch Arts and Crafts wall coat rack could be gracing the entrance of your home or cabin soon. This rare and wonderful looking antique is a perfect example of the time and attention to detail that was put into creating home interior pieces in the earliest years of the 1900s. Over one hundred years ago, this coat rack would first have to be drawn on paper (with seperate drawings for the stylized squirrel and bird sculptures) and after that a sculptor and other highly skilled artisans would create the seperate pieces that would ultimately make this striking coat rack. The perfectly hand carved and seemingly pleased squirrels on either side of this rare antique are standing over their ‘bunch’ of pinecones, which they will save up ‘for a rainy day’. Other great features are the stylized flying birds and the beautifully shaped and highly practical bronze Arts and Crafts coat hooks. For this gorgeous and typical Dutch Arts & Crafts coat rack from 1900-1910 to be in this museum worthy condition again felt like a blessing and thanks to the original metal hooks on the back, this solid oak, two tone coat rack also is easy and safe to mount on your wall in just a matter of minutes.
If you like the look and feel of this antique as much as we do, then you will love our price. Especially when taken into account that perfect packing and worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days are included in our price.
