This beautiful hearth—or fireplace—fender is crafted from brass in the exuberant Baroque style. The fender features a central section moulded with Baroque style motifs, including a pierced gallery and a central mount featuring griffons. The ends of the fender are similarly formed, each designed in an architectural manner: each features a buttress form body flanked by twin griffons, atop of which is a baluster form element surmounted by a flaming finial. The brass throughout is richly cast and finished. The ends can be moved in order to extend the fender to suit the length of a fireplace.
