From the Harvey Ellis Collection by Stickley in quarter sawn Oak frames with contrasting wood inlay and original Brown Leather seats. Though Harvey Ellis is generally and widely named as the designer of this line, recently acquired information from the Metropolitan Museum of Art now indicates that the design may have been more of a collaborative effort amongst several Stickley workers and that the back inlay was likely inspired by the great Scottish Architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh. In any case the chairs present in an admirable Arts and Crafts manner and are also very comfortable. With Stickley Brand, Metal attached tag and Paper label affixed to the underside. Production date May 8, 2012 and branded number 032.
Each Rocking Chair measures 25.5” wide by 30.75” deep by 40.5” high. Seat height 18”.
Condition: The overall condition is very good with a fine Arts and Crafts presentation.
