Made of thick plywood with leather ribetes and iron corners and reinforcements, 2 heavy duty iron handles on both sides to carry the hefty load. The inusual square size and dimensions of the trunk reveals its rare nature as it was probably used to store delicate equipment or scientific instrumental not the clothes or personal belongings of a passenger
