Vintage Design
Cabinet designed by Willy Van Der Meeren and executed circa 1950 for Tubex. In good original condition, preserving a beautiful patina, with minor wear consistent with age and use. In the style of Jean Prouvé. Willy Van Der Meeren Born in Belgium in 1942. He began studying medicine but after a year he discovered that architecture was his real passion. He started architecture at the Academy of Brussels in 1943. Actually he was not comfortable with the style of the academy and he decided to continue his studies the following year in La Cambre. Van Der Meeren is characterized by his interest in the production and the construction for the whole society and not for an individual benefit. It is also considered one of the leading Belgian furniture designer in the Postwar period.
