Vintage Design
A very nice example of rare sideboard from the Portsmouth Brand of White and Newton. This is the Rimington model, designed by Arthur Edwards and dates from the 1960s. This is a long teak and birch sideboard with stylish sleek metal handles. This is of high quality as are all White and Newton sideboards and it’s a very heavy solid item of furniture. The minimal styling and great lines with an industrial look makes this a very nice example of Danish influenced furniture from the Mid-Century. The sideboard has 5 Slimline drawers with the top drawer lined in felt with five dividers. There is also a double birched lined cupboard with shaped shelves to allow storage of bottles or taller items.
