From the description of the mirror.
The framing panels of this Italianate mirror consist of foliate scrolls within rectangular borders, laid over lacquer panels. The side, top, and bottom panels contain vines with triangular leaves, textured fruit and leaves, and berries, all imposed over red lacquer. Each of the four corner panels depicts a four-leafed blossom on an open square device, imposed over black lacquer. Each of these eight lacquered panels is framed by a simple molding, and a ribboned slip molding surrounds the glass that lies within the frame made by the lacquered panels. Above this ornate rectangular frame is a pediment containing a classical mask with lobed hair or crown and down-turned mouth, flanked by converging S-scrolls with petaled flowers. Below the frame are complimentary bound scrolls, each with a hanging leaf pendant.
A demilune slap of white marble (patinated over time) sits atop of the matching demilune console (see description above of the decorative elements), which is supported by four scrolled legs. In the center is large medallions showing a bird surrounded by three smaller medallions with flowers.
The ensemble is in a very good condition.
