Set of six elegant solid silver Russian demi-tasse spoons from the ancient capital of Moscow, with flared and slightly curved handles, engraved exterior bowls and gilded interiors typical of the period. The gilding is original. Exterior of bowls and handles are lightly etched with palmette and geometric motifs recalling Arts & Crafts bordering on Art Deco. The spoons were made by a Moscow silversmith whose Cyrillic initials are NG (unidentified) between 1908 and 1917. Each spoon bears the hallmarks of the maker and the town mark both inside the bowl.
Moscow, 1908-17. The bowls stamped 84 with delta mark for Moscow within a Kokoshnik and Cyrillic maker’s initials NG.
