Unique Viennese Style Arts and Crafts Brass & Nutwood Sculpture Pedestal Stand

This unique, modernist pedestal is another one of our recent great finds. All handcrafted in the late 1800s or early 1900s this open (or see-through) design has a modernist architectural look and feel and both the brass and the solid nutwood have an amazing patina. Mind you, the geometrical brass frame is not hollow but filled/strengthened with wood inside. This design would certainly have been futuristic when it first left the artisan’s studio well over a hundred years ago. In this day and age we have come to understand that this antique is actually timeless and therefor ahead of it’s time. Because of its design and ‘calm colors’ this striking stand can be used for displaying all kinds of works of art from a wide variety of materials.
