Presenting a fabulous and rare breakfast suite from the early days of Dutch design, with influences from the Arts and Crafts and Rationalist movements. Crafted from oak wood and woven seagrass rush, this suite includes (4) side chairs and an oval table with one butterfly-style leaf, conveniently stored beneath the tabletop.
“W. Kuyper” is a somewhat mysterious figure in the pantheon of Dutch design. There was an architect named Willem Chiel Kuijper [or Kuyper], alive from 1879-1961, who is credited with the design of several Rationalist-style churches built in Holland in the 1910’s and 1920’s – though it is unclear whether this “W. Ch. Kuyper” and our W. Kuyper are one in the same.
NOTE: dimensions provided refer to a single chair. The table measures H 30″ x W (without leaf) 46.25″ x D 35.5″ ; Leaf measures 17.5″ wide.
