It was innovator Gerrit Pelt who founded L.O.V. in 1910 to create a better standard of living for the working class. He wanted to manufacture furniture that was solid, stylish and affordable. At the same time he wanted to restore the craft of furniture making, just like William Morris in the UK, who started the “Arts and Crafts Movement”.
Many other important designers worked for L.O.V. Like J.A. Muntendam, A.H. Jansen, C. Alons and of course Gerrit Pelt himself. This set is designed by A.H. Jansen. It’s signed with the company logo.
As you can see, the table is extendable so that three sizes are possible. All pieces are fully checked and fully restored but the cushions need to be reupholstered. The cushions are not attached to the chairs. Please note that the two extra leaves are a little bit different in colour. Made of solid stained oak.
